DWS Direct Contact Water Heater

The DWS direct contact heater consists of a stainless steel tank equipped with a burner firing from top to bottom. The water to be heated is sprayed into this tank.
Since the heated water remains below the condensation temperature of the flue gases, very high efficiencies are achievable.

An efficiency of 110% based on the lower heating value (LHV) is achievable.  Compared to a conventional boiler with a heat exchanger, this results in a fuel saving of at least 25%.

This method of heating is also much more maintenance-friendly.

– Stainless steel tank (2500 mm high, 500 mm diameter)
– Burner suitable for burning biogas (no mixing)
– Gas train suitable for biogas consisting of:
– Manual shut-off valve for biogas
– Biogas filter
– Two automatic shut-off valves
– Two gas pressure switches
– A gas leak detection system
– Pressure gauge with shut-off valve
– Ratio controller
– ATEX flame arrester
– Control panel with burner control unit, gas leak test system and operator interface
– Temperature transmitter
– Three thermometers
– Circulation pump
